Let the drawing remain the focus
A child’s drawing is personal because of its own character. Uneven lines, unusual colours and handwritten details may be exactly what makes it worth keeping. Choose whether the whole sheet matters or whether a particular figure or scene should take centre stage.
Capture the paper clearly
Photograph the drawing on a flat surface with the camera parallel to the paper. Uneven lighting can make white paper look grey or change the colours. Check all four corners and avoid cutting off signatures or important details. Editing and background-removal options have not been confirmed.
Prepare your design
Scan the drawing or photograph it straight from above in even daylight. Keep the paper flat and avoid shadows from your hands or phone. Save the highest-quality file and keep a copy of the original.

Do I need a scanner?
A scanner can help, but a sharp, evenly lit photo can also be a starting point. Avoid angled shots and shadows across the paper.
Should I remove the paper background myself?
Keep an untouched original first. Any editing should preserve the drawing; available background treatment will depend on the final design options.
